Here are the hard facts. Fluoride is everywhere and there’s no escaping it. It is in our tap water, in our antibiotics, in our toothpaste. Unless you want to have rotten teeth or death by dehydration, you’ll have to be exposed to it. Fluoride isn’t all bad – if we didn’t have it, we would have many more issues in supplying potable water. However, due to its presence, it is easy to get contaminated.

So what is it that fluoride exactly does to you? The list of issues it can cause is far from flattering: reduction of IQ, dental fluorosis, kidney damage. Being exposed to high concentrations of fluoride is known to increase the rancidity of brain itself, which in turn affects cognitive ability.

However, there is some good news, even if we’re surrounded by fluoride from all side. There is one easily obtainable spice that will prevent fluoride from (literally) making you dumb, and that’s turmeric, which contains curcumin.

The study of curcumin effects on fluoride has been investigated by Department of Zoology, University College of Science, M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur, India. It is no accident that the Indian University decided to investigate the issue further: it is estimated that around 60 million people in India alone have been poisoned with excessive fluoride that came from granite rocks in groundwater.

Turmeric plays a vital role in Asian cuisine, and its healing properties have been well known since antiquity. It has been used in folk medicine for a number of ailments, and its effectiveness continues to be proven by different clinical studies and tests. Not only curcumin fights fluoride, it also binds amyloid proteins which are associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

Turmeric is also rich in anti-oxidants, which have consistently been proven to prevent cancer. Turmeric especially has proven its efficacy in combating colon cancers, which is one of the most widespread tumors, especially when combined with cauliflower. And not only that – it can even lower the incidence of child leukemia.

So what are you waiting for? Take more turmeric, and your overall health is bound to improve.
