The annual buffalo carnival in Hyderabad has a special participant this year – a Murrah buffalo worth a whopping Rs 7 crores.

The prized animal was brought from Haryana to participate in the ‘Sadar Utsav Mela’ celebrated by the Yadav community of Hyderabad as a part of Diwali celebrations.

The festival is also known as Dunnapothula panduga and is celebrated on the second day after Diwali.

During the festival, the buffaloes are decorated with garlands of flowers, painted horns, and paraded through the streets.

The two-day festival is being organized at the YMCA, Narayanaguda from November 13 to November 14 this year.

Hyderabad police have issued an advisory to regulate traffic movement in view of the festival.
