Do You Know Your Food Can Starve Cancer Cells?

According to American Cancer Society, there will be an estimated 1,658,370 new cancer cases diagnosed and 589,430 cancer deaths in the US by 2019. But avoiding the intake of this conventional food can help to stop cancer cells from progression – SUGAR!

Sugar does not end up from destructing human body tissues through diabetes, but also it helps to sustain cancer cells from eating your inside. German physiologist Dr. Otto Wartburg believes that cancer is fuelled by sugar and that a patient should avoid eating foods with too much of it in substance. Many medical practitioners do not tell this fact to their patients that results to severe conditions.

Wartburg’s theory was that malignant cells and tumor growth was caused by cells that generated energy via adenosine triphosphate (ATP) through a nonoxidative breakdown of glucose (sugar). The recycling of the metabolite from this process called glycolysis and the circulation of adhA back into the body caused anaerobic respiration.

In a journal Molecular Systems Biology published in 2012, Dr. Thomas Greaber with his colleagues support the theory of Wartburg and discussed that “glucose starvation—that is, depriving cancer cells of glucose—activates a metabolic and signaling amplification loop that leads to cancer cell death as a result of the toxic accumulation of reactive oxygen species.”

This fact may not be easy for the cancer patients, and even to the healthy ones for sugar has been part of our daily lives. Fruits, breads, fruit juices, milk, sodas, and majority of snack foods contain various types of sugar. Carbohydrates, known to be the primary macro nutrient that people need to consume for body functions, is later converted to sugar as well.

There are food companies and businesses that offer unsweetened and no-sugar content products but that doesn’t mean that their foods do not really contain at least 1% sugar substance.

However, Dr. William Li, an expert on disease fighting through diet released a list of foods that can help to keep cancerous cells preventive. He advised to eat one these cancer-fighting foods each meal.

Discipline is the virtue for keeping a cancer patient capable of starving the cancer cells. Refrain from buying “convenient” foods and prefer organic crops from the local. Try to desist from frequent eating at the restaurants because you may not know all the ingredients that are being included in your meal. In the end, what you eat radiates in your body so eat foods that can beat cancer.
